This ancient dance was previously danced during the Pharaonic era and used in rituals in honor of the Earth and fertility before the patriarchal religions were established in the fifth century. Typical of Arabic countries, this form of expression has spread throughout the world. Millions of women discover within it a way to relate to their own bodies, and with this recognition, they share this dance ritual with others.

The oriental dance classes are a space for women of all ages, a place of joy where you can explore distant rhythms and dance "for" and "between" us. From an anthropological perspective, I enjoy explaining the origin of each gesture, the context of each dance on this trip to the East, where our bodies draw waves of desert dunes, camel movements or where the infinity symbols in our hips remind us of the gift of life, of our femininity.

In the classes I explain the techniques of the movements, guided by the pedagogical knowledge acquired from my experience of seven years as a Yoga teacher and thirteen years as a Dance teacher. The students, with the familiarization of Arabic rhythms, learn to distinguish styles and intuit what kind of movements (undulations or markings) are more appropriate for the song performed. I consider free interpretation as a channeling method of emotions very important, which also helps a more authentic and spontaneous movement.
